Cathal is a self taught oil painter. He works with the palette knife. His paintings are created with oil freely applied to the canvas with a bold use of colour.
Currently, many of his paintings capture images of Irish landscapes and traditional Irish way of life (such as farm and pub scenes). He also produces a number of portraits including musicians, actors and other artists.
