Maura Culbert is a contemporary Irish artist based in Dublin, whose practice is defined by a distinctive sensitivity to colour, light, texture and atmosphere.

Originally from Waterford, Culbert’s creative journey began in interior design before she pursued a BA Hons in Fine Art. Her work explores a diverse range of subjects, from Irish seascapes and architectural spaces to interiors, fashion and textiles, bringing together expressive mark-making with a strong sense of composition.

Culbert’s paintings are particularly recognised for their rich use of colour and their ability to capture a sense of place and mood. Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout Ireland, including at the Royal Hibernian Academy’s Annual Exhibition, and is held in the OPW Collection of Fine Art.

Working from her studio in Dublin, Culbert continues to explore the relationship between colour, texture and visual experience, creating contemporary works that are both atmospheric and deeply personal.
