Finnchoem was a warrior-princess of Ulster and a sister of Dechtíre, mother of CuChulainn. She was famed for her hunting and combat skills and her son, Conall Cearnach, was one of the greatest of the later warriors of Ulster, defending it from predatory Gaels who invaded again and again from the south.

The dolmen portrayed stands today near the Cavehill Mountain in Belfast and is known as ‘The Giant’s Ring’.
